Hi, I am new to this forum. In the process of buying this software and setting up the side scan hardware to map underwater tree stumps for removal. At the same time would also like to have the depth measurements to create depth maps of these lakes for the owners.

I have played with Hummingbird and Garmin side scan transducers that are boat mounted. Have not used any towable transducers, but not sure if they would provide a better image quality than the boat mounted ones.

I am looking for recommendations on gear and setup to map stump fields in lakes between 10-50ft depths to then import into reefmaster. We want to create side scan Mosaic maps that we can then be used to pin point areas for divers to go clean up. We are removing trees and stumps that might be a problem for boaters but some of these are under the water surface and in murky conditions.

What display and transducers would you use that will work the best for uploading and downloading with reefmaster?

Hi!
Used Lowrance HDS Live + StructureScan 3D exactly for the same task. Believe that HDS Live + 3-in-1 transducer are also ok.

Thank you. Any preference on easy of uploading and downloading data between Hummingbird and Lowrance?

I am using only Lowrance so can't compare. But think that there is no big difference.
And you will get something like this:

Thank you anton, that's what I'm looking to create. What transducers do you recommend?

It makes not so much sense as for me. StructureScan 3D was used in the case above but 3-in-1 at 455 KHz is also ok.

How critical is it to not overlap paths? Can the software adapt if the pathways are not parallel?

The good practice is to move in parallel with the same interval and overlap sidescan coverage by 50-100%. But in the real life it may vary so on post-processing stage you have to fix by playing with parts of mosaic. As far as I know RM has no special tool to simplify the process.

That's Kama- river ,Anton?
StructureScan 3d is best option for Lowrance unit. Raw data from newest transducers isn't close to SS3D.
To make data-recording easier It's possible to export paralelly lines from Reefmaster and using it as "track" to cover area.

No, much to the north - White Sea - Baltic channel.
Totally agree in regards to SS 3D - the best Lowrance sidescan equipment ever.
